National History Day Competition

Save the Flags was happy to serve as a judge in one of the regional National History Day competitions held at the Bolls Campus in Grosse Pointe Woods this past Saturday, February 7, 2026. The annual competition includes project submissions of papers, exhibits, websites, performances and documentaries at the youth, junior and senior levels, with support from the Historical Society of Michigan. Selected projects go on to compete at the state level with some projects advancing to the national competition. In commemoration of the semi-quincentennial, the 2026 themes were Revolution, Reaction and Reform.

It was a pleasure to interact with so many dedicated and passionate young people in their pursuit of furthering history education.
