2 “Orphan” Flags Get Adopted

On December 9, 2025 Lansing Community College Professor David Siwik adopted two flags carried by the 20th Michigan Volunteer Infantry Regiment, SC-72-90 and SC-215-90. The 20th formed in the Third Michigan Congressional District.  Company A of the regiment was recruited in Lansing and was composed largely of men who worked in the state departments of the Capitol. The regiment was led by Colonel Adolphus Williams, a Mexican American War veteran and Lansing businessman.

Save the Flags would like to extend our gratitude to Professor Siwik for his adoption of these two  “orphan flags” that had previously never been adopted.
