Douglas Hinton III Adopts his Fourth Flag
Save the Flags would like to thank Douglas Hinton III for his adoption of his fourth flag from the collection.
On Thursday, August 6, 2026 Douglas was honored with a ceremony in Heritage Hall for his adoption of a flag carried by the 5th Michigan Cavalry Regiment, SC-133-90, during the Civil War. The Fifth was part of the famous Michigan Cavalry Brigade which was under the command of General George Armstrong Custer.
Douglas also made an additional $500 donation to help defray the expense of a new plaque at the state museum that honors supporters of Save the Flags. We are indebted to Douglas for his great and continued support!
