Flag Day with the Daughters of the American Revolution
Save the Flags was pleased to attend and address the annual picnic of the affiliated Chapters of the Oakland County, Michigan National Society Daughters of the American Revolution on flag day June 14, 2025. This year the picnic was hosted by the Sashabaw Plains Chapter. Following a delicious lunch prepared by the members, a short address was given by member Joette Kunse on the 250th anniversary of the Army, Claire Kostum of the Children of the American Revolution and Laura Herfy from People of Impact, an organization dedicated to caring for veterans, including providing affordable housing. The event was held at The Brady Lodge in Independence Township which was built by the grandson of General Hugh Brady as a retreat for young men. Special thanks to Sashabaw Regent Lyndsay Lawless for her kindness!
